Thanks to our friend u/ginsor, we've gotten access to all the new text strings with 220.127.116.11 - this is what I could scramble together with regards to Truth.
It looks like it starts in the Menagerie
- given that nobody's found it yet, I'd assume it's a drop from the Heroic Menagerie; either that or we're being cucked by RNG :((
Edit: u/Captain_Ellie kindly pointed out that Truth is timegated for release next week.
Amid the wreckage of the your victory in the Menagerie, you discover a tattered note written in Awoken script. You can't read it, but you've certainly fought alongside someone who can.
Visit the Dreaming City to speak to Petra Venj.
Petra is glad to see you, as always. She takes the note you found in the Menagerie and puzzles over it.
"It's very odd," she says eventually. "These are instructions to find an Earthmade Rocket Launcher hidden somewhere in the Prison of Elders. The grammar's not very good, though. It almost reminds me of Eliksni…"
She translates the note for you, and then, with a weary apology, she returns to her endless field work.
The note that Petra translated for you is addressed to a "daughter of Light," and it indicates that there is a stolen Rocket Launcher hidden somewhere in the labyrinthine Prison of Elders. To identify its location, the note indicates that you'll need a map that has been squirreled away somewhere in the Ascendant Plane.
Complete one of Petra's weekly Ascendant challenge bounties in the Dreaming City. (I think you're supposed to find a chest in the AC - following part references one).
To your dismay, the chest did not contain a complete map. Instead, you have a fragment of a larger whole, along with a cryptic note. Whoever hid this Rocket Launcher took great pains to keep it safe.
translucent, soft-shelled hatchling of my heart
prove you are wise enough to bear my truth
truesighted, scour the other chests
you will find one near the cistern on the centaur
one by hunting a child of darkness in the tangled jetsam
and one by fighting alongside the chosen as night falls
Unravel the clues to find and decode the remaining pieces. (Next part is after you decode the map. Unsure if a step is missing, here).
You've successfully decoded and reassembled the map, revealing additional instructions clearly intended for someone else. However, that someone else is apparently Fallen, and in your mind, that makes this whole thing fair game. That Rocket Launcher is so close you can almost taste it. Metal… soot… finders-keepers-style thievery… Delicious.
well done, best beloved. one final trial awaits you. seek out the relics, as i have shown you. there are seven, all told, and all well-hidden. the more you find, the easier your final climb will be.
you deserve this. we will be reunited soon. be well. grow huge.
Complete the "Warden of Nothing" strike while Ascendant, and find the final hidden Ascendant chest.
You emerge from the Prison of Elders with your new Rocket Launcher in hand, then send a quick message back to Petra to tell her the story. She's happy for you, if a little uncertain about the morality of it. Shortly afterward, your Ghost receives a transmission from Werner 99-40 on Nessus. The Emperor has demanded an audience.
Speak to Werner 99-40 on Nessus.
Final quote, following last step:
Calus is interested by your alliance with the Awoken of the Reef. Should the opportunity arise, he wants you to "put in a good word" for him.
It looks... interesting. Not quite what I was expecting, but I'm glad it works in both new and older content as part of the process.
Additionally, here's the Lore tab for Truth, if you haven't already seen it:
Smoke winds away from the battlefield in wavering scarves.
Corsairs and Crows move through the wreckage in pairs, searching for their dead. When they find Awoken survivors, they call for help. When they find a Devil or a Wolf, they call for a field medic and prison-grade restraints.
A Vandal watches all of this from the wing of a Galliot with his four arms folded around his knees. He knows battle, and so death does not disturb him. He was born of war, made for it, shaped by it. And yet, as he stares out at the charred bodies of his cousins, at the bent bodies of his new allies…
"Vel," Sjur says, startling him. He peers down to find her on tiptoes, chin on the edge of the Galliot's wing. She juts her thumb over her shoulder, indicating the battlefield. "Npariimoqilum?"
He frowns. "Res kaqilum? Psekisk."
She frowns back at him, and though she only has two eyes, her stare is mother-strong.
The Vandal sighs and lets go of his knees. "Variisis," he grumbles as he slides off the Galliot, skulking past her.
"Ha, ha," she replies, humorless.
He picks his way down to the worst of it and joins the search. Over the next hour, he finds a Wolf that he half-remembers from a distant relative's coming-of-age ceremony; three Devils who look at him with uncomprehending confusion and anger; and one Crow irretrievably trapped beneath the fuselage of his ship.
He is about to abandon a ruined Devils skiff when he hears a faint hiss from inside a ventilation shaft. He clambers up to peer into its grate and sees four wary eyes shining back at him.
A hatchling, still soft and translucent with its egg-molt.
Carefully, he pries the grate open and beckons to her. "Velask, kelekh," he murmurs. "Nankemrak."
She crawls into his palm and his heart surges.
"…is where you seek it." - Lomar
I’m hoping it’s another this or that quest step, but if it’s not it’ll get nerfed for sure. Ace was nerfed because you needed to rely on the enemy invading and your teammates not killing them first, this is even worse as you need the enemy to invade when you’re ready, your teammates not to nab the kill, and your teammates not to die. Sounds awful.
I'd say it's defs Mithrax, as it mentions Sjur and he would've been vandal-esque during his time with her. However this is the first we've heard of his adopted daughter, I'm excited to see if we ever hear of her more, or if he mentions us skimming the launcher from her
Edit: He also mentions her as a "Daughter of Light" which House of Light is the Fallen house Mithrax has started and become Kell of, so it'd make sense his daughter would be titled as such
