Everything You Need To Know About Destiny 2 Trials Of Osiris Flawless
It’s finally back, after years (and the failed attempt at Trials of the Nine), Bungie’s unleashed the good stuff. They initially announced the return in February but it took until March 13 to go live.
The new rendition of Trials of Osiris for Destiny 2 brings back many of the best features of the original with a few tweaks.
Hit the ground hard and learn the meta as you power through for your weekly wins and fight for that coveted Flawless Trial.
Excited but confused? Read on to learn everything you need to know about this addition.
Trials of Osiris
The Trials of Osiris was (and is) a 3v3 PvP game mode. Players compete in a week-long rotation with the objective of winning as many of 7 games as they can without losing 3.
Rewards are based on the number of wins and rotate each week. Each trial session goes from Friday to Tuesday, resetting both the rewards given and the progress made.
Maps cycle with each week in addition to the rewards.
Participating
Players need to find Saint-14 the quest giver and vendor for the Trials. He can be found in the Tower Hangar.
to participate you need a fireteam of 3 people (pre-built) and over 960 power. Finally, you also need to purchase a Trials Passage.
Trials Passages
The Trials Passages is the most interesting feature added to the Destiny 2 version. The Passages serves as both your ticket into the event but also tracks your win/loss progress. Passages cost 25k Glimmer and 15 Legendary Shards.
Even better, the choice between the five Passages offers bonuses to you and your squad. Experienced players will err towards Confidence which provides extra rewards when going Flawless, while new players will likely select Mercy to forgive one loss, giving them a total of 4 each week.
Players can participate in the Trials more than once per week by purchasing additional Passages.
Rewards
Rewards for victory are handed out on the 3rd, 5th, and 7th wins. As with other events in Destiny, Trials weapons come with their own rolls per party member.
Check the schedule each Friday to get a list of the rewards available for that week.
Tokens, to be spent with Saint-14 reward after 3 wins. Further tokens can be earned through Bounties.
Tokens need to be spent in the same week they are earned, come Wednesday morning they reset.
Flawless Trials
The pinnacle of achievement is the Flawless run. To get this you need 7 wins with no losses. Doing some takes you to the Lighthouse and a special chest with additional rewards.
The most coveted of which, the Trials Armor which gets a glow for the week, and some unique Emblems.
Getting a Flawless takes a strong fireteam that works well together and can overcome the unique challenges added by each week’s map. In the setup screen, you will see information about the opposing squad. It’s vital to study this to increase your chances of victory.
