Best Shotguns and Perks In Season of Worthy

Published: April 28, 2020

With Season of the Worthy in the final two months, guardians are hard at work grinding to get the best rewards. A list of the best shotguns in Destiny 2 is in order! A lot is at stake this season, as guardians must work to save the Last City and repower Rasputin. There are also exclusive rewards, higher power levels, and amazing gear that you can earn in the process.

Of course, getting those rewards and saving the Last City is difficult if you don’t have the best weapons for the job.

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a well-placed shotgun blast in Destiny 2. Read on to learn about the best Destiny 2 weapons, specifically shotguns, that can carry you through the Season of Worthy.

The-Chaperone

The Chaperone

Every shotgun in Destiny (and real-life) fire off a spread of small projectiles that causes extreme spread out damage. That spread makes them perfect for up-close combat, but sometimes you want to hit someone from far away. The Chaperone is a different type of shotgun that takes the precision slug perk because it fires one round that does massive damage.

With this gun, you can hit an opponent clear across the battlefield. It’s a shotgun that works well for both PvE and PvP battles because of its high damage, incredible range, and rounds per minute. If you have this weapon in your arsenal, you’re going to be the most dangerous guardian in any situation. It could even help you go flawless in the Trials of Osiris!

Did we mention that this gun is also the best looking weapon in the game? It’s one thing to destroy your enemies, but with The Chaperone, you can mow them down in style.

The hand-laid stock upgrade gives the gun more stability while the roadborn upgrade grants you bonus range, stability, and precision damage after each kill. This weapon might be the best one in the game if you’re looking for a versatile gun that does a lot of damage from a distance.

  • Damage Type: Kinetic
  • Impact: 75
  • Range: 100 (yes, you read that right)
  • Stability: 28
  • Handling: 50
  • Reload Speed: 37
  • Rounds per Minute: 35

The-Legend-of-Acrius-Shotgun

The Legend of Acrius Shotgun

The Chaperone gives you a lot of options and lets you take enemies out from a distance, but some people just want raw power. For those that want to destroy an enemy quickly and stun their opponents, the legend of Acrius shotgun is perfect.
This weapon has one of the best damage per second stats in the game. If you can catch your enemy off guard with this weapon and put a few rounds into them, they’ll have no choice but to retreat or die. If you’re the type of player that likes to run into a line of enemies because you think you can kill them before they kill you, you want this shotgun.
There is nothing subtle about this weapon. The shock blast perk overpenetrates enemies while firing high-damage arc energy. With the accurized rounds perk, you can increase the firing distance, while the long march perk lets you see enemies from farther away. You’ll be able to hit your enemies with this weapon before they even see you coming. Fitted stock improves target acquisition and increases your movement speed when you’re moving while looking down your sights.
This is a great PvP weapon that can create confusion among your enemies because of the sheer damage it can cause.

  • Damage Type: Energy
  • Impact: 85
  • Range: 100
  • Stability: 82
  • Handling: 14
  • Reload Speed: 28
  • Rounds per Minute: 45

Good Bone Structure

The first two shotguns on this list have impressive specialized stats, but sometimes you want a balanced gun that’s good in all situations. One of the most important things for a guardian to have is versatility. You need weapons and armor that perform well in a variety of situations, especially if you’re a newer player.

Good bone structure is the gun you want to have in most situations. Newer players benefit the most from this weapon as it can help level the playing field. Unlike the legend of Acrius and the chaperone, you don’t have to understand advanced Destiny strategy to get the most out of this weapon.

The precision frame perk causes the gun to fire a single-slug round and makes the recoil pattern predictable and vertical. The high-caliber rounds perk can help you get separation from your enemies because it knocks them back while increasing range. With the outlaw perk, your reload time will increase with each precision kill, meaning you can take enemies out faster without wasting precious seconds reloading.

This gun is a great choice when someone wants a balanced approach to both PvE and PvP combat. Because of the balance it offers, it’s perfect for newer players, but it’s still an amazing choice for experienced guardians as well.

  • Damage Type: Energy
  • Impact: 70
  • Range: 60
  • Stability: 50
  • Handling: 69
  • Reload Speed: 46
  • Rounds per Minute: 55

Retold Tale

This energy shotgun could end up being your favorite weapon in Destiny thanks to its perks. Precision frame increases the guns range and makes recoil predictable, while the full-auto trigger system perk allows you to hold down the trigger and rain automatic destruction onto your enemies.

With full choke, you’ll have increased range and lowered handling speed while you’re looking down your gun’s barrel. Accurized rounds increase the range by ten, or you could get assault mag for quick combat, which improves stability by 15 and gives you 10 more rounds per minute.

Quickdraw and snapshot sights, combined with assault mag, makes the gun perfect for PvP, as you’ll have a shotgun that draws quickly and allows you to aim down your sight faster. This gun’s versatility and potential rolls make it one of the best weapons in the game.

  • Damage Type: Energy
  • Impact: 70
  • Range: 60
  • Stability: 50
  • Handling: 69
  • Reload Speed: 46
  • Rounds per Minute: 55

Last-Man-Standing

Last Man Standing

If you’re an aggressive player and like to get up close and personal for kills, the last man standing shotgun is for you. With the right melee weapon, you can destroy enemies quickly with catastrophic damage.

Aggressive frame increases this gun’s rate of fire after you earn a kill, while the full-auto trigger system perk lets you hold down the trigger and fire continuously. This gun compares favorably with mindbenders ambition when it comes to damage, but with the right perks, you might prefer this weapon.

The one-two punch perk can cause massive damage when paired with the right gauntlet, like synthoceps. The perk increases your melee strength when you hit an enemy with each pellet in a shot. A well-timed shot and melee attack can take enemies out quickly.

This shotgun is also the only one with the demolitionist perk, which returns 20% of your grenade after using it. When you combine that perk with accurized rounds and rifled barrel, you’ll have a gun that lets you take on enemies from far away, launching grenades in between accurate shots.

  • Damage Type: Energy
  • Impact: 80
  • Range: 33
  • Stability: 27
  • Handling: 33
  • Reload Speed: 38
  • Rounds per Minute: 55

Perfect Paradox

Sometimes you need a gun that can take out mobs of enemies with ease. The perfect paradox can handle large swarms of enemies with ease and get your guardian out of a tight jam. You can kill almost any low-level boss and major in a few seconds with this gun and the right roll.

The gun comes with the rapid-fire frame perk, which gives you deeper ammo reserves and makes the weapon fully automatic. You can also reload the gun faster when it’s empty, allowing you to unload all your ammo into an enemy, reload, and fire again before they have enough time to react.

Demolitionist allows you to regain 20% of your grenade, while swashbuckler grants you a damage boost every time you kill an enemy. Since this benefit stacks three times, a horde of enemies is easy prey for your guardian.

Most players think of this gun as a PvE gun, but with the right perks, it works well in PvP as well. Full choke will reduce projectile speed when you’re looking down the sights while light mag improves your reload and range. Opening shot gives you bonus damage on the first shot of a battle, slideshow partially reloads your weapon and gives you increased range and damage when you slide, and range MW improves bullet magnetism.

  • Damage Type: Kinetic
  • Impact: 0
  • Range: 39
  • Stability: 43
  • Handling: 49
  • Reload Speed: 69
  • Rounds per Minute: 140

Threat-Level

Threat Level

Ever since Bungie nerfed the full-auto shotguns in season six, this weapon has become a must-have for guardians. What sets this gun apart from the others is its high rate of fire and the insane perks that you can get.

The rapid-fire frame perk makes the weapon fully automatic and gives you deeper ammo reserves. Much like the perfect paradox, you can unload a storm of bullets on your opponents, reload quickly, and decimate them. With grave robber, you can finish off an enemy with a melee attack and it will partially reload your shotgun, allowing you to go on to the next enemy.

If you’re fighting against waves of enemies, you’ll want to combine the surrounded and threat detector perks. Surrounded gives you bonus damage when there are three or more enemies nearby while threat detector improves your reload, handling, and stability when you have opponents close-by.

You can also combine trench barrel and genesis for a powerful PvE combination. Trench barrel increases your damage, reloading, and handling after a successful melee hit, which genesis refills your gun from reserves whenever you break an enemy’s shield.

This shotgun gives you options based on the roll you get. Adjust to the roll you receive and you can make almost any combination of perks with this gun a god roll. As Michael Scott from the office would say, it’s threat level midnight.

  • Damage Type: Kinetic
  • Impact: 0
  • Range: 37
  • Stability: 45
  • Handling: 49
  • Reload Speed: 69
  • Rounds per Minute: 140

Dust Rock Blues

This weapon has become a popular option for Trials of Osiris players because of its perk opportunities and moving target.

Moving target lets you move faster and improves your target acquisition when you’re aiming down the sights while moving. Since constant movement is a necessity in the Trials, this gun dramatically increases your chances of survival and taking out your opponents.

Combining moving target with rampage makes you even more dangerous. With rampage, you get increased damage after a kill, and that damage stacks three times. Accurized rounds increase the range of the weapon, letting you hit targets without having to get to close. Top it off with full choke, which reduces projectile speed while aiming down the gun’s sights, and you’ve got a shotgun that can carry you through the trials and into the lighthouse.

You can also roll slide shot, which partially reloads the magazine while boosting range and stability. All in all, this gun gives you the flexibility, movement speed, and damage you need for PvE or PvP. This gun is almost too perfect for the trials.

  • Damage Type: Kinetic
  • Impact: 70
  • Range: 69
  • Stability: 51
  • Handling: 41
  • Reload Speed: 47
  • Rounds per Minute: 65
