Bungie Changes Destiny 2 on Release of Shadowkeep
Published: September 28, 2019
So Many Changes to Destiny 2, So Little Time.
Bungie Changes Destiny 2 and there is so much to prepare for with the up and coming release of Shadowkeep, only days away now. There have been alterations in the combatting, the economy, weapons and armor, and overall with the story line that have players like me squirming in my seat to see. Bungie has recently thrown some real deal information to the public over the last few days though to help us settle in. I am here to assess a lot of what’s out there and up to date.
Destiny 2 seasonal shifts being the norm, expected that this new release would have its own set of standards. They have incorporated into the currency and monies related to the Eververse Trading Company, along with progressive rewards making a statement. Weapons and their perks are also getting a hell of a hit with these upgrades. These changes should account for amongst all this talk on revisions in Shadowkeep.
Bungie Changes Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Progressive Progression
For starters, the year 2 Powerful reward sources have changed to Legendary rewards. The references will no longer be able to drop random Exotics over the Legendary gear. There will be a match in power levels of Exotic weapons from the Ordeal drops that are from Nightfall. Added to this, under and over leveling actions will not affect how much power is achievable from rewards. Importantly, all non-powerful rewards will drop zero to three points below the highest equitable power level you have. It is up from the 15-20 below.
Experiences have been changed, as in the way in which they affect players. The character’s level is no longer apart of the equation. The player’s power levels will set at 50 in this new gameplay. On top of this though, Experience moves forward the Season Pass, Season Artifact mods, and Power Progressions. The rewards have been redone to contain the beginning of the Season Pass and Seasonal Artifact Progressions. Even the unlocking of destinations for new characters is in play here.
Power Bands Shadowkeep Season of the Undying
There have been significant changes to the Power Bands in Destiny’s new release, Shadowkeep. I have picked them apart for your future success.
The floor is set at 750 now, moving up to the Soft Cap at 900. From this point, only pinnacle and powerful rewards assist with the increasing of your Guardians’ power. All drops until this threshold will be upgraded to the more powerful item in your vault or inventory as well. Not bad Bungie.
The Powerful Cap is not much higher at 950. Though now with this level all non-powerful or non-pinnacle rewards are capped just as much so. Pinnacle rewards will be the only way from this point forward to raise your power. Powerful rewards are equal to your characters’ highest potential power any further.
The Pinnacle Cap is the highest power at which gear will drop. Sometimes this is referred to as the hard cap, as nothing goes beyond it. Seasonal Artifact bonuses are the only way to reach this level.
Bungie Changes Destiny 2 Eververse Edits
Bungie Changes Destiny 2 and there are quite a few things that have been removed from this component of the game. Season 7 Best of Year One Engram is no more, but there will be the new Season 8 Nostalgic Engram in place of it. They will no longer get earned through leveling up, though. Another removed piece is the Seasonal Milestone bounty. It has got replaced by Bright Engram. Eververse bounties are depreciating, and any bounty notes left can be broken into Bright Dust- luckily. Bungie was thinking about us. It’s also to noted that you can access the storefront via the Director now, which is more conventional if you ask me.
Glimmer and Bright Dust
Bungie Changes Destiny 2 and glimmer has a new threshold of storage at 250,000. Most sources of Glimmer have been balanced, leaving most open-world sources with increases. Passive Glimmer gains on kills get reduced though. Glimmer chunks can now get dropped during combat- this is a win-lose for everyone. On the positive side of it all, weekly bounties are going to award a large amount of Glimmer among all their other rewards. Players can officially depend on them for increases.
Let’s look a little into the changes related to Bright Dust, now earned through the completion of Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard weekly bounties. It allows for players to have a dependable source, eliminating the constant demand of daily bounties. Bungie is working to remove some of the pressure, making the game more player focused. There will be repeatable bounties that players can jump in on as well, allowing for limitless Bright Dust earnings. On a lesser side of it, the Eververse items are no longer able to be broken into Bright Dust. They instead produce Legendary shards and Glimmer.
What can you use Bright Dust for this new season? Two weeks into the Season of the Undying, new Eververse items will be available for purchase. Or you can buy into the Gleaming Boon of the Vanguard or the Crucible, as their price has lowered dramatically.
Legendary Vs. Exotic Weapons: Perks at a Decline
Bungie Changes Destiny 2 so Rampage, Kill Clip, Swashbuckler, Multi kill Clip, Desperado, Surrounded, Master of Arms, and Onslaught are all declining in their effectivity with this new expansion. They are going to use the same damage multipliers for PvE that they did in PvP. This change in Rampage will not affect the Huckleberry weapon but will for any other. Surrounded no longer multiplies precision damage along with base damage. Expect from Onslaught as well as Desperado changes with bullet impact values when active in PvE.
Legendary weapons have become more potent than intended originally. Sometimes even overcasting Exotic Primary weapons. It is not what Bungie was aiming for initially, and so they are making changes to help alleviate this competition shift. With the changes to the perks, they are hoping to see a dynamic power change.
